Co-designed by veteran mountain guide Mike Haugen and tested on Mount Everest, the Coleman Exponent Helios X2 is a four-season tent worthy of the most grueling conditions. Developed to withstand high-altitude environments, the Helios X2 is a two-person modified dome tent. It has a footprint of 87"x52", with two large D-shaped doors and two vestibules that are 8 square feet each. Center height is 41". The Helios tent features four Yunan Atlas Scandium poles; used in high-performance sporting goods as well as military and space applications, the scandium alloy is well-suited to tent poles that must stand up to demanding conditions. A shock-corded floating connector, tapered on each end, joins identical poles, eliminating the need for a fixed insert in either pole. This innovative design allows the poles to flex in an even arc with better distribution of stress, making them stronger and less prone to failure. Structural features include a combination of pole sleeves and quick-clips for quicker setup without compromising strength. Extensive pole coverage with multiple guy-out points provides “bomb shelter" strength to handle snow loads and high-altitude winds. The 70-denier nylon fly sports silicone and polyurethane coatings to increase resistance to wind and weather. Inside pockets provide a handy place to store gear. Pack weight: 7 pounds 10 ounces. The prototype of this 4-season tent was designed by professional mountaineers and tested on some of the highest way stations of Mt. Everest. The Helios X2 tent is, as a result, engineered specifically to withstand the combative conditions that exist at high altitudes. The Helios X2 tent features a more robust pole structure built to hold heavier snow loads, a waterproof silicone coating that won't crack in freezing temperatures, and all of the interior mesh can be zipped close to help heat retention. All of this, plus it has an easy pole/clip structure to make setup quick and easy.

Budget Mountaineering Tent
I've owned this tent for 6 months now, using it on average twice a month. I've used it on high-altitude peaks, snow, sleet, rain, mud, sand, high-winds, and high-temperatures. It's stood up phenomenally!

Pros
- 4 huge pockets inside around the base, each is big enough to hold a Full-sized winter jacket.
- 4 small pockets inside up in the corners of the tent, perfect for flashlights, lighters, hats, etc.
- 8 main stake out points, plus 4 more for the 2 vestibules, plus 6 guy lines for a total of 20 stake out points.
- Can withstand very high winds and heavy snow loads.
- 2 large vestibules are big enough to stow 2 people's worth of gear in one vestibule and cook in the other.
- 4 strong aluminum poles which are color coded to make setup a breeze.
- In hot weather, leave the stakes, rainfly, and 2 poles at home. It's a freestanding 3 lb tent with only 2 poles!
- 2 full-size sealable mesh windows, plus 2 more sealable mesh vents at the...

A True Four Season Tent
I purchased this tent to take to the Grand Canyon rim for spring hike.
The weather on the rim was cold and very windy including sleet one night.
This tent was up to the challenge. It was warm and sturdy.
Great purchase. Made for a great trip.

Solid
This is not the lightest tent.
This is not the easiest or quickest tent to set up.

This tent is solid.
This tent is warm.
This tent is decently priced (for a 4 season backpacking tent)

If I'm backpacking in warm weather, this tent stays home but for cold weather, I haven't seen its equal.
